About the Project
ResiRisk gives property buyers a clear picture of the climate risks facing a property before they commit to a purchase. Users search by address, create an account, and pay to generate a detailed climate risk report for one or more properties on their dashboard.
Each report analyses exposure to six hazards - flooding, wildfire, heat stress, extreme precipitation, extreme wind and drought - across three climate change scenarios projected out to the year 2100. Reports are both interactive on screen and downloadable as PDFs.
The application is built on Ruby on Rails. Climate risk data and analysis is pulled from the Mitiga Solutions API, which provides location-based modelling at a property level. Stripe handles payments, and our in-house Houston gem powers the admin back end for the Sustain2050 team to manage users, properties and orders.
