Rails rescue
Rails app broken? Developer gone quiet?
A UK-based Rails developer who’ll find the problem, quote a fixed price up front, fix it, and hand back full access to the code, servers and everything else.
- UK-based
- 10+ years with Rails
- No lock-in
Sound familiar?
Whatever’s gone wrong, it’s fixable.
-
Errors, or the app is down
“We’re sorry, but something went wrong”, timeouts, or nothing at all.
-
Hosting has stopped working
A platform change, an expired server or a deploy that just won’t go through any more.
-
Stuck on an old Rails or Ruby
No longer getting security fixes, and every upgrade attempt breaks something.
-
Your developer has disappeared
Emails go unanswered, and nobody else knows how the app fits together.
-
Locked out
No access to the code repository, the servers, or the accounts it all runs on.
-
Slow, and scared to change it
Pages crawl, background jobs pile up, and there are no tests to say what’s safe to touch.
How it works
Three steps, no surprises.
-
Tell me what’s wrong
Use the form or call. A couple of sentences and your web address is plenty.
-
Free check and a fixed quote
I look at the app, explain what’s happened in plain English, and give you a price that won’t change.
-
Fixed, and handed back
Once it’s sorted, you get every login, a backup and a short report of what was done.
Pricing
One fixed price. Agreed first.

Your code, hosting and domain stay in your name. Every login comes back to you.

10+ years with Rails
Old versions, unloved codebases, odd gems and apps that have been through several developers. Most problems have been seen before.
What people say
Back up and running, and relieved.
I am very grateful to have been introduced to Will and the team! He has been a great asset to our company, building our app, Puctto.
I also just wanted to start off by saying that you guys have already done such an incredible job and to let you know how grateful we are for you taking us on. (And, wow! Will is incredible, what a LEGEND!)
Questions
Before you get in touch.
Usually, yes. Between your hosting company, your domain registrar and a few checks, access can almost always be recovered. I’ll walk you through it.
Yes. I can fix what’s broken now, then plan an upgrade one step at a time with a fixed price, so the app keeps running throughout.
No, it’s common. I read through what’s there, add tests around the parts I change, and write down how it all works as I go.
No. Most apps can be fixed. If yours genuinely can’t, or a rewrite would cost less in the long run, I’ll explain why and leave the decision with you.
No. The rescue is a one-off. The care plan is there if you’d like someone to keep an eye on things afterwards.
If your app is down, usually the same day. Other problems are typically looked at within one working day.
Tell me what’s broken.
A few details is all I need. You’ll get a straight answer and a fixed price, with no obligation.

Got it, there.
I’ll look at this today and get back to you as soon as I can. If it’s really urgent, call too.
I’ll take a look and reply within one working day with what I think is wrong and a fixed price.
